Welcome to Esbjerg City Half
– a race and a city with energy
A new and unique half marathon will place Esbjerg on the runners' map. This is the ambition of Sport & Event Park Esbjerg and Esbjerg Atletik & Motion who is organising Esbjerg City Half in parthership with Esbjerg Municipality and Esbjerg City. The first edition of Esbjerg's half marathon starts Sunday June 25 2017 at 11 AM, and both beginners and experienced runners from all over Denmark as well as other countries are welcome.
The whole point of Esbjerg City Half is to create a race, which is also an experience, and the race is designed on the basis of a fast and plane route. The participants will run on the streets of Esbjerg city centre, pass the active harbour and run through the beautiful western nature, and the organisers are looking forward to letting the runners experience all the best of the Energy Metropol of Denmark.
The 21.0975 kilometres offer some of Esbjergs most famous landmarks as Musikhuset Esbjerg (the Music House of Esbjerg), the sculpture Mennesket ved Havet (the Human by the Sea) and the city's stadium Blue Water Arena, and the runners can look forward to activities and entertainment both on the route and in the start and finish area at Blue Water Dokken.
